One in five of us in the UK are deaf, deafened, or hard of hearing and we rely on subtitles and captions to experience the joy of live theatre, to sing along with our favourite musicals, to take guided tours around museums, or to see our favourite authors speak at festivals. We at Stagetext are asking for your help with fundraising, so together we can make the arts a more welcoming and accessible place.
We have one space available for this year’s London Marathon, taking place on Sunday 2 October. If you are a keen runner who wants to take part in one of the world’s most famous races while raising money for our charity, please get in touch.
What we’re looking for in a runner…
Someone who’ll be excited to run for Stagetext:
You may be deaf or hard of hearing yourself, one of you family members may be deaf, or you may just be passionate about deaf access and looking to help our charity.
Someone who’s eager to raise money:
The London Marathon is one of the largest fundraising events of the year and we’d expect you to get involved. We’re looking for a runner to raise a minimum of £2,000. Stagetext will be on hand to help out with this, as we can promote on our social media and newsletter.
Someone who will to get involved with Stagetext’s Communications team:
We want to support you every step of the way and as part of this we’d love to tell your story to our audience. We’d want you to get involved in interviews and to track your fundraising progress in the run up to the event.
