It’s Deaf Awareness Week from 4 -10 May and this year it’s focussing on ‘acquired deafness’.
Acquired hearing loss refers to any type of hearing loss that appears after birth. This can occur at any time in one’s life as either a result of an illness or injury or genetic factors.
Deaf Awareness Week is a unique campaign that calls for different organisations to promote their own work within the broad spectrum of deafness.
We’ll be getting involved during the week, promoting new events to enjoy during lockdown, discussing the facts and figures of aquired deafness, and also announcing the winner of our culture quiz.
We’d love to hear about what you have planned. Get involved on social media using #DAW2020.
