Stagetext was delighted to be appointed Accessibility Sponsor for the Heritage Day 2025 conference, held at the Tower of London. Hosted by the Heritage Alliance, the event focused on community building and access to heritage and culture.
The conference, which was made accessible through live subititles provided by Stagetext, brought together representatives from charities, government departments, academia, funding bodies, and commercial organisations with a Ministerial Address delivered by Baroness Twycross, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and a keynote speech from Dr Nick Merriman OBE, Chief Executive of English Heritage.
Stagetext team members Courtney Rudge, Hannah Evans and Rachel Jele were also there to represent the charity at this beautiful historic setting, to showcase how arts, culture and heritage can be inclusive through deaf access.
Rachel Jele, Head of Advocacy and Engagement said: “To be involved in the Heritage Day event is incredibly exciting for Stagetext. As heritage organisations are reaching out more to their local and diverse communities, it’s timely that we were able to show how a commitment to make heritage and cultural events fully accessible helps to remove barriers and makes for a more inclusive shared history.”
“Although many people know Stagetext for theatre captioning, we also make talks, tours and conferences accessible using live subtitling. We work in all kinds of venues, including museums, galleries and heritage sites, so we were delighted to take part in Heritage Day, where we could talk to range of people across the sectors about deaf access,” she added.
Stagetext will also be providing live subtitles for the Access in Museums Conference in Leeds on Thursday 20th March – 21st March.
